The Honest Intake™
Last updated: October 29, 2026
The Honest Intake™ ("the Service") is a self-guided relationship coaching and self-reflection tool provided by The Romanelli Group LLC ("we", "us", "our") at intake.remarriageroadmap.com. Each partner answers the same questions (about 115) alone, on their own phone. The Service then shows a map of your answers: one big picture, a short 3-page report, every answer side by side, and a reading and viewing list and other general educational material. It is for adults in a committed relationship, run from the United States and offered there and in other countries. Both partners must be 18 or older.
These Terms apply to both partners. The buyer agrees by ticking the box at checkout, and each partner, the buyer included, by ticking the box in the app that says they agree to the Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Not therapy. The Service is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy or professional advice, not a psychological, medical or clinical assessment, diagnosis or treatment, and no substitute for care from a licensed professional if you need it. The map, picture and report reflect your own answers back to you through The Potential State's coaching framework. All of it, including the playful role names, patterns and suggestions, is coaching, not clinical analysis or therapeutic advice, and it can be wrong about you.
No treatment relationship. Using the Service creates no therapist-client, clinician-patient or other professional treatment relationship with us, Assael Romanelli, PhD, Galit Romanelli, MA, or The Potential State, and no clinical record. Nothing you enter becomes part of any medical or clinical record. Assael Romanelli, PhD, is a licensed clinical social worker, but he is not acting in that capacity when you use the Service, and no clinical services are provided through it.
What comes after. The app may suggest two next steps outside the Service: the Remarriage Roadmap, our paid 8-week coaching program, under a separate agreement, or a licensed couples therapist near you, from a public directory (Psychology Today). The Roadmap starts with a free 40-minute assessment call with Assael Romanelli, PhD, Galit Romanelli, MA, and both of you. The call isn't coaching or therapy, only a check on whether the program is a good fit for you. If we don't think it will help you, we'll tell you, and we won't sell it to you. We don't choose, check or recommend any therapist in the directory, and the Service does not refer you to Assael Romanelli, PhD, for therapy. Your reading list and report include free articles, videos and practice sheets, many of them ours, and the app may suggest one paid workbook of ours. Buying anything is optional and separate from the Service.
If you share your map with us, for example on the free call, we see what you share and may keep it and our notes from the call. Like everyone in New Jersey, we must report to the state if we have reason to believe a child has been abused or neglected. If we learn there's abuse or violence between you, we'll tell you plainly, we won't continue as couples work, and we'll point you to safety resources. If someone's safety is at immediate risk, we'll act to protect them.
The Service is not for crisis or emergency use. If you or anyone else is in danger, having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, or at risk of violence or abuse, stop and get help now. These numbers are for the United States. Elsewhere, call your local emergency number.
The Service isn't the right tool for you right now if:
If any of the above are true, couples work of this kind isn't the safe next step. Talk with an advocate on your own, free and confidential: 1-800-799-7233.
Wait, or get support first and come back when it fits, if:
The app can't keep anyone safe. It asks about violence privately (see section 4), and some answers open a note with places to get help. Any safety or support note is shown only to you. The app won't catch everything, can't judge danger, alerts no one and reports nothing. No person reads these answers.
Made for two. One partner may finish alone and get only their own half, which shows one side only. The other can join later, at no extra cost, for as long as we offer the Service. Invite your partner, never pressure them: this isn't a way to find out what someone is hiding. If they say no or stop partway, that's their answer.
Sharing is your choice, and it works both ways. Nothing is sent without your tap, and you see your partner's answers only if you share yours. The second of you to finish sees only their own half until they tap to share theirs back, which opens the combined map on their phone (and on the first partner's, from the link sent back). If they don't share, the app never shows them the first partner's answers, only the name the first partner gave (and the first partner's own email address, if they typed it at the end: it rides inside the invite link, so anyone with the link can read it). They can change their mind later on the same phone, if it keeps their answers (a phone marked "Not just mine" keeps no answers once the page closes). The app never tells your partner when, or whether, you sent it. Sharing back is a commitment, not a lock: the app can't check that the message went out, the combined map opens on their phone either way, and someone who knows how could read the answers in your invite without sharing back.
Once you share, there is no privacy between partners, except a few private answers. Your partner will see almost every answer you give and which questions you skip, including how scared you are of them, how long you'd stay, your answers about sex, porn and affairs, and what the map makes of them. Do not enter anything you are not prepared for your partner to read. You may skip any question, but your partner will see the skip, and you won't see their answer to it. Skipping a private question is never shown.
The private answers. Only the answers that name physical violence (like "hits me") and the follow-up about what you're scared of are private. Each is marked with a lock. The app never saves them, not even on your phone, never puts them in any link, picture or report, never shows them to your partner, and never sends them to us or anyone else. If the only thing you pick on a list is a private answer, your partner sees a skip. Typed words that clearly describe violence, or wanting to die or to hurt yourself, in any box, are treated the same way: they stay out of your link, your map and your report, and your partner sees "something else" or a skip. The app looks only for clear words, so it will miss many. Everything else is shared, including your 1 to 10 on how scared you are, words like "monitors me" or "calls me names", and your answers about how you feel about yourself. If someone can see or check your phone, they may still see what you tap.
Your links work like keys. Your purchase link holds no answers, but anyone who has it could use your seat, so keep it to yourself. Anyone who has a link the app makes, or a QR code, file, report or email made from one, can read the answers in it. An invite made from your purchase link could also use a seat, so send your invite only to your partner. Your picture and report show many of your answers too. The links the app makes, your picture and your report go only where you send them (emails through your own email provider), never through us, and your partner can keep a copy. We keep none of them unless you show us one (section 2), so if you lose them, we cannot recover them. The Privacy Policy says what each one holds.
Before starting, each partner confirms that they are 18 or older, that taking part is their choice, whoever suggested it, that they can stop at any time without the app telling their partner why, and that their answers are theirs until they send them and, if they send or share them, their partner will see them, except the private ones above and any question either of them skipped.
One go each. Each partner gets one go, with no redos, unless something breaks on our side (see section 8). The app never deletes an earlier Honest Intake from a phone without asking: if a phone that finished one opens a new invite or purchase link, it asks first. The exception: if you went first on that phone without opening your purchase link, a new purchase link leads to your earlier results instead (write to us and we'll help). "Start my half" (or "Start mine") deletes the earlier one from that phone, so keep its link, file or report first. "Open my earlier results" keeps it.
The Service is built on a systemic approach: a relationship is a pattern, a dance, that both partners create together. In the everyday dance of a couple, nobody is 100% guilty or 100% innocent. Violence, threats, coercion and control are different: they're never a shared fault. By using the Service, you understand that it will reflect your own answers back to you directly, and that this may be uncomfortable.
Not made for court. The Service is not designed to decide who is at fault or to support any legal proceeding, including divorce or custody. The map isn't built or tested as evidence, and it isn't a custody or forensic evaluation, so please don't use the Service or its output to win a divorce or custody case. Your partner gets a copy of your answers, and anyone with your link can read them, so no one can promise a court will never see them. Nothing in these Terms stops anyone from seeking protection from abuse, asking for a restraining order, reporting abuse, contacting the police, or talking to their own lawyer.
Results depend entirely on your answers and on what you both do afterwards. We make no guarantee of any particular outcome for your relationship, and nothing here predicts its future. You and your partner are responsible for what you do with your results.
Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what is collected, by whom, and why. In short:
Price. The Service costs the price shown at checkout, per couple, paid once by the buyer through our customer system, with Stripe processing the payment. That covers one go for each partner. The app never asks either partner for a payment. It is a digital product for a phone or computer with an up-to-date browser. Access begins as soon as you pay, and your private link is sent by email and text.
Texts. We text your private link to the phone number you give at checkout. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts, or HELP for help. We won't send you marketing texts unless you separately agree.
All sales are final. No refunds. Because access starts immediately, we don't give refunds (except as "If something breaks" says below), including if your partner never joins or joins later than you hoped, if either of you stops partway or chooses not to finish, if you are unhappy with your results, or if the Service suggests it may not be the right tool for you right now. Before you pay, you confirm this with a required checkbox: "I understand this is a digital product that starts immediately. All sales are final. No refunds, including if my partner never joins." A short notice, "All sales final", also appears next to the price and in your purchase email.
If something breaks. If your link doesn't arrive, or a technical problem on our side stops you from finishing, write to [email protected]. We will resend your link or reset your access, so you can start again on a different browser or phone, or on the same phone after clearing this site's data. If we can't get the Service working for you within 14 days of your message, we will refund you.
Disputed charges. If you dispute the charge with your bank, we may share with the payment provider the record that you ticked the checkout boxes, agreed to these Terms and used your own access, never your answers or whether your partner started or finished.
The Honest Intake™, its questions, framework, wording and design, and the way it presents results, are owned by The Romanelli Group LLC and are for your personal use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, resell, or use the Service or its materials professionally without our written permission. Your answers are yours: you may keep, print and share your own results, picture and report with anyone you choose, including your own therapist.
Except as the last paragraph of this section says, we are not responsible for:
If we are found responsible for any loss connected with the Service, our total liability to you and your partner together is limited to the amount paid for the Service. We are not liable for losses that come from what you or your partner choose to do with your answers or results, such as emotional distress, loss of income, or the end of a relationship.
The limits in this section do not apply to: (1) death or bodily injury caused by our negligence; (2) our gross negligence, recklessness or intentional wrongdoing; (3) claims under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act; or (4) our failure to keep the promises about private answers and your data in sections 4 and 7.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. If you have a concern, please contact us first at [email protected]. We will try to resolve it within 30 days. If we can't, any dispute connected with the Service or these Terms will be decided by the Superior Court of New Jersey in Camden County, or the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in Camden, and you and we agree to those courts. Either of us may instead bring a claim in small claims court, if it qualifies.
We may update these Terms, posting changes here with a new date. A change applies to purchases and agreements made after that date. The version you agreed to keeps applying to your purchase unless you agree to a new one. We keep a dated copy of every version, and each partner's seat notes (see section 7) show which version of the app's agreement boxes they ticked, and when.
If we stop offering the Service, we'll post a notice here at least 90 days before, and email our buyers, so anyone whose partner hasn't finished can finish first. If a court decides that part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
Contact. The Honest Intake is provided by The Romanelli Group LLC, 114 Partree Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003. Questions about these Terms: [email protected].
